NRL starts tonight - wahay!

Yay! NRL starts tonight.

Just wanted to vent some frustration regarding Channel 9's broadcasting arrangements. They portray themselves as supporting rubgy league and advertise as if its their flag-ship sport.

Unlikely! Only two matches out of seven each round, and neither of them are live. I won't even start on the phrase 'plausible live'.

Let's hope they get some kind of clue before the next round of rights negotiations.

Then I might have chance of seeing a Tigers game on free to air telly. During seasons 2002-2003, the Raiders went something like one and a half seasons without getting a free to air broadcast. Ra-volting. They should take up variable broadcasts, just like Ten does with the AFL, so that fans in the various regions can see their teams more often. Not that hard really, they could take a direct feed of the Foxtel broadcast if they wanted to save money - this happens in other sports.

Sigh.
