Cricket in winter - who cares?

Apparently there is some kind of Test Series being held in the Top End of Australia in winter. We're playing Sri Lanka. Now firstly, does anyone else feel that cricket in winter is just all wrong? Does anyone else feel that their care-factor has slid down the scale now that it's time to put on the long sleeves? I know these guys are probably excited but obviously I am a fair-weather fan who only enjoys the cricket when the sun is hot and there's no footy on. There are two points though that I would like to make about this series. The chucker has chickened and is staying home, no doubt to be consoled by his mother who will tell him that yes he was born with an arm that way and he is in no way a cheater AND Edward's favourite sportsman, after Matt Dunning of course, has declared that he is raring to go. That's what I like to hear! At least we may get the pleasure of having the dubious world record being eclipsed by the fatboy.
