DPP lets the Dogs out

No charges are to be laid on any Bulldog over the Coffs Harbour incident.

Malcolm Noad believes that this should be a "total vindication" for the club. Hmm. I think I may have also heard on the ABC news that the club will be seeking compensation for their financial losses during this afffair.

Nothing has changed. My views on league and sex still stand.

Update: In answer to Holly's spray, the following quotes come from The Australian (28/04/04).

"Before yesterday's announcement by police, Bulldogs chairman George Peponis reiterated the club was considering taking legal action for damages.

"We'll be looking at the way our club has been damaged. We've lost $1.3m worth of sponsorship," Peponis told ABC radio." Read the whole article

(Perhaps the boys should be given lessons in respect for sponsors instead of respect for women. That might have had them politely decline the offers of female company.)

and

"Lawyers for the players revealed last night that they were considering suing the NSW Government for what they alleged was a deficient police investigation." Read the whole article

(Why was it deficient? It didn't find enough evidence to charge them?)
